- Jazz vocalist MIKA debuted with the duet album That Old Feeling, which featured blues harpist Nobuo Yagi. After taking part in the production of several other albums and commercials, in 2011 she released her first solo album, featuring artists including jazz bassist Daiki Yasukagawa and jazz trumpeter Shuichiro Ise, followed by the collaborative album The Old Music Master in 2017. In 2015, she was featured in an article profiling Japan’s up-and-coming jazz vocalists in Jazz Hihyo (“Jazz Critique”) magazine. In December 2020 she released her eagerly-awaited second album Twisted – The Mika Trio. She has been profiled in Jazz Japan magazine as an “artist to watch,” in addition to receiving high praise from numerous other magazines and critics.
